Trenching Sands
Trenching sand is placed at the bottom of the trench underneath where the pipe is to be laid as bedding sand. It is then used as sand backfill around the pipe once it has been placed and connected.
It won’t damage the pipe with any sharp and pointy particles. The Sand is graded to ensure it provides good drainage and compaction if required.
Different sands are available to suit the pipes being laid in the trench including;
- Stormwater
- Electrical (SAPN)
- Common Service Trench (CST) -electrical, NBN, data
- Water main
- Gas main
- Thermally sensitive electrical cables
- Fire main
